Crabernet: Pupusas con Curtido at Emerita's in Hyattsville
Emerita's Mexican and Salvadoran Cuisine, 5408 Queens Chapel Road, Hyattsville, MD 20782, 301-559-7400.
Truly long-time readers of this blog may recall that it has been at times sharply critical of Markos Moulitsas, aka "Kos" of Daily Kos. Now is not the time to rehash and reminisce about petty blog sniping of now one year's aging. On certain matters, however, this blog absolutely defers to Kos, to wit: issues involving Salvadoran cuisine. Kos is of Salvadoran heritage and lived there; I am not and have not. A few weeks ago, Kos urged readers to go to Salvadoran restaurants and try out pupusas if they had not had them before. I decided to take Kos up on his suggestion.
More Ugliness from Team Obama

Tell Ace of Spades just to go suffer. HAT TIP to Al Rodgers for his diary about Obama in Portland, Oregon at Daily Kos.
Conservatarian Nails It Re: McCain's Citizenship "Controversy"
The "More Like This" tag above applies to the Maryland Conservatarian who has administered a well-timed, well-aimed scolding to those who, with lameness overflowing, have challenged the natural-born citizenship of Senator John McCain, who was born in the Canal Zone in a military hospital back when the Canal Zone was unambiguously U.S. territory.
New Blog - Kumama's Kitchen
Cooking blogger Kumama has just started her new blog Kumama's Kitchen. Kumama advises that her name comes from her grandson.
Welcome to the blogosphere, Kumama, and if you are indeed a Maryland blogger, I hope that you will consider joining the Maryland Bloggers Alliance. Alliance members, please drop by to give Kumama some good will and encouragement.
Zuzu's Thesis: Obama is "Just Not That Into You"
Zuzu, recently of Feministe and now of Kindly Póg Mo Thóin (Gaelic for "Kiss My A**"), claims that Senator Barack Obama is a politician, and cites evidence to prove her thesis. The "you" of "Obama's just not that into you" is, more or less, the more enthusiastic sector of the liberal blogosphere, particularly at Daily Kos, where Hillary Clinton can barely find a public supporter at this point.
Native American Flute - Windwalker
I do not have as much cultural information regarding this performance as I would like, but have requested additional information from YouTube channel EnchantinGoddessSoul for better edification. Many thanks to her.
UPDATE: From EnchantinGoddessSoul:The music is by Elah Micheals "Wind Walker." Many thanks!
Free at last, free at last...!
Our house is now under contract. We will close on April 30, if all is in order with our pre-approved buyer.
I will be moving to DC proper on or about that date. I have never been a domiciliary anywhere other than Maryland; even when at college in New Jersey, I kept my domicile in Maryland, filed Maryland income taxes, voted here, etc. Maryland Weekly may need a new name....
Posting will probably continue to be light. Right now, priorities are securing housing and employment, packing and arranging for the real logistics of moving and life in DC, facilitating the local move for Sunday and the kids, etc.
More Frightening Militant Black Nationalism from Barack Obama's Church
I can just see this dangerous militant selling bean pies for Louis Farrakhan at the corner of Wabash and Northern Parkway in Baltimore.
Grameen America: From Rural Bangladesh to Queens
Washington Post, March 10, 2008:
"I just want to live a little better, and one day own a little house or something," said Socorro Diaz, 54, a borrower who sells women's lingerie and jewelry. "I'm trying to change my life. Bit by bit."Grameen America, which offers loans from $500 to $3,000, hopes to reach people like her, part of the large segment of poor Americans without access to credit, said Ritu Chattree, the vice president for finance and development.

New Arrival to the Crab
I just got an iPhone, and am happy with my purchase. Had been eyeing it for a number of months, maybe over a year. It replaces a bulky camera (which I did not own and would have bought), BlackBerry (which I own and will sell in recoupment) and iPod (which I also own and will sell.) A picture of my little fellow Noah (2, almost 3) is above. The monthly fees are actually better than what I had for a less extensive contract now expired with Verizon and Sunday and the service has been great. The email service looks great on the phone and is approximately as efficient as that of the BlackBerry, and the internet service is great.
Eschacon 2008
I may be going to Eschacon, blogger Atrios' blogger get-together in Philadelphia at the end of March, but have not decided. Philly is close enough that renting a hotel room seems a bit of a waste of money; I would probably go up and back same-day, maybe even by bus to save automobile wear-and-tear (and to kick in some nostalgia from my Princeton days when I was too cheap and broke to pay Amtrak fares up and down the NE Corridor.) Am not committing yet due to cash flow and other more personal issues.
I would consider carpooling it if there are other Maryland/DC bloggers doing likewise.
