Major E-Discovery Privilege Waiver in Baltimore Federal Court
Submitted by Bruce Godfrey on Fri, 06/06/2008 - 01:41.Over at responsivedocuments.com, I have an excerpt of a Daily Record article on a privilege waiver by inadvertent or negligent document privilege review policies in a federal case in Baltimore. In short, sloppy rules and procedures for preventing an inadvertent release of privileged documents resulted in both the release of such documents and a ruling that the release effected a waiver of privilege, notwithstanding an attempt to allow a "clawback" of privileged material.
Credit Card Dirty Tricks
Submitted by Bruce Godfrey on Fri, 02/15/2008 - 12:35.On two different credit cards, I have noticed that the credit card company has arbitrarily shortened the month twice in the last 60 days. By this I mean that the due date is that is normally e.g. the 19th of the month got moved to the 12th, or from the 21st to the 17th. Neither the short month of February nor discussions of "grace periods" for interest explain this. I think that what explains it is simple: a great many people do what I do, which is to pay online according to a set schedule and not pay particular attention to the bills when they arrive, since the information is likewise provided online.
