Red Maryland on the MTA's Bribery of Punks and Thugs

Maryland Transit Administration officials are offering discount cards for area businesses to students who pledge good behavior on city buses, an incentive that transit administrators hope will help curb disrespectful and violent behavior. The discount card will offer 10 percent to 20 percent off purchases at 12 city establishments, including Dunkin' Donuts, Cold Stone Creamery, Shoe City, Downtown Locker Room and other places....
Global Warming, Local Politics
Submitted by Bruce Godfrey on Sat, 03/01/2008 - 10:39.I have enjoyed the exchanges between Isaac Smith of Free State Politics and Mark Newgent of, inter alia, Red Maryland regarding global warming and the ecological and economic effects of possible policy responses to them.
I do not claim to have the knowledge of either of these gentlemen on the topic, but I will throw out a few thoughts.

Transit Coordinator Hired for Proposed East-West Baltimore Red Line

Danyell Diggs, a graduate of Baltimore’s Northwest High School, the University of Maryland and Morgan State University, was hired to serve as the link between the community and the city, state and federal agencies involved in funding the project....
Diggs will lead an effort to build a 12-mile rail line that extends from the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, at the west end of the city, to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in the east. What form the line will take, whether a Metro-type subway or street-level light rail, is as yet undetermined.
