Two Defense Attorneys Accused of Witness Influencing

Yesterday, a judge ruled that a jury can hear testimony from a prosecution witness who said defense attorney Leslie Stein urged him to change his story, telling him that "people don't last long when they snitch."Baltimore Circuit Judge Timothy Doory said he didn't necessarily believe the witness, Christopher Meadows, over the 35-year veteran attorney, who denied the allegations. But the judge thought "there was enough there" that the jury in the murder trial of Stein's client, Bryant Williams, 24, should be allowed to decide who's telling the truth.

Bethel AME Music Director Price Sentenced to Seven Years for Second-Degree Rape

Moments after the 32-year-old former music director of West Baltimore's Bethel AME Church was sentenced yesterday to seven years in prison for having sex with a 12-year-old parishioner, he collapsed in the courtroom, setting off a screaming match between two families that ended with the defendant's mother unresponsive and shaking on the hallway floor.

Transit Coordinator Hired for Proposed East-West Baltimore Red Line

Danyell Diggs, a graduate of Baltimore’s Northwest High School, the University of Maryland and Morgan State University, was hired to serve as the link between the community and the city, state and federal agencies involved in funding the project....
Diggs will lead an effort to build a 12-mile rail line that extends from the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, at the west end of the city, to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in the east. What form the line will take, whether a Metro-type subway or street-level light rail, is as yet undetermined.

The 31-year-old music director of Bethel AME, a high-profile West Baltimore church, has been accused of rape and child abuse in a case involving a 13-year-old girl who is a member of the congregation, according to city police and church officials.Timothy D. Price III was charged with second-degree rape, assault and child abuse, and multiple sex offense counts, city police said. Since his arrest Wednesday night, Price, who lives in Owings Mills, has been held on $1 million bail at Baltimore's Central Booking and Intake Center, electronic court records show.

Sports apparel maker Under Armour Inc., which expects to outgrow its headquarters in Baltimore's Tide Point in about five years, is eyeing West Covington, an industrial swath of Middle Branch shoreline that city officials want to transform into an extensive mixed-use development.Officials at Baltimore Development Corp. have talked with Under Armour executives about West Covington and several other city sites as a possible home for a future corporate headquarters in an effort to help the company grow, said M.J. "Jay" Brodie, president of the BDC.
