The past seven days of my life have been oriented around the impending family adjustments and my residential relocation to the District of Columbia. Finding an apartment has been a serious pain in the neck. Happily, problem solved.

I am happy to be moving to Fort Totten Station, a "luxury" (i.e. nice but NOT luxury) complex next to the Fort Totten Metro. The neighborhood is not the best in the city by far but it's not the worst, either. I had to walk about a mile and half from the complex to go get a money order for my cash deposit from a beat-up liquor store on Riggs Road; happily, Hennessy and Colt 45 are indeed available in my neighborhood at reasonable prices. But the complex itself impressed me, and the rent was lower than advertised. In short, I have a new place to live effective one week from Saturday.

There won't be much posting for the next two weeks or so. The sale of the Godfrey Estate and Manor (i.e. townhouse and appurtenant dirt clump) will take place on April 30th. Thereafter, snark will resume.
