To me, what's amazing about this singer is that when she talks, her Middlesex English accent is very strong., but she sings like 1930's or 40's Harlem. Sort of like Cyndi Lauper from the 1980's in that one might not conceive of her speaking voice and accent as thick Brooklynese from her music.
